MINISTRIES

 

Our St. Paul's parishioners devote their time and talents to the many active ministries with in our church. If you would like to participate or need the services of any ministry, please contact them directly.

Ministries List as of 1/13/08

Adult Education - Scripture Study, RCIA, RCIC, Family Formation. Contact: Betty Moye, 249-2600 X20.

Altar Servers - For those in fifth grade and older. Contact: Mimi Coleman, 249-2660.

Choirs - Sunday morning adult choir, teen choir (9th gr. & up) & children’s choir, Contact: Gretchen Hoss, 434-2600. Sunday evening adult choir, Contact: Michelle McInerney, 247-4428.

CCW (Council of Catholic Women) - Contact: Anne Storch, astorch@bellsouth.net . This Ministry encompasses M.O.M.S. and all the Circle Ministries. 

M.O.M.S. - Offers inspiration and encouragement to help women of all ages. Contact: Danielle Benedict 993-2889 or Judy Johnson 247-8562.

St. Ann’s Circle: Meets first Monday, beginning with 9:30am Mass, followed by a business meeting and lunch. Contact Louise Wilson 246-6502.

St. Elizabeth's Circle - Visits patients in Avante Villa nursing home. Brings patients to chapel for Thursday morning mass. Meets 1st Wednesday of the month at 10:00am. Contact: Carol McNamara, 221-5354.

St. Joseph's Circle - Arranges receptions for new parishioners. Contact Deb Saggau 241-4888

St. Martha's Circle - Organizes funeral receptions at request of bereaved families. Contact: Louise Wilson, 246-6502.

St. Theresa's Circle - Makes/collects infant items for Birthright and special items for nursing home patients. Meets the last Monday of the month, 10AM in parish center. Contact: Marge Modesky, 246-4112.

Parish Nurse - Coordinates health screening, educational programs and support groups. Assists with coordination of volunteers to help parishioners with health needs. Meets 1st Wednesday of the month during the school year. Contact: Mary Pazder RN 249-8618.

Cherub School - For 3's and 4's during 8:30,10AM, and 11:30AM Masses. Contact: Patty Trousdell, 246-1363.

Cold Night Shelter - Help over sees shelter on cold nights in our gym for the homeless. Contact: Theresa Merriam, 223-3732.

Crossroads - Young adult ministry for singles and couples concentrating on the social, spiritual and service aspects of Catholic life. Meet the first Sunday of each month after the 7PM Mass. Contact: Paul Poirrier, 710-9437.

Cursillo - A weekend experience to develop a deeper understanding of Catholic living. Ultreya monthly on 2nd Fridays. Contact: Cheryl and Ken Chascin, 221-0252.

Divine Mercy Prayer Group - Fosters daily prayer and spiritual reading. Meets Tuesdays 10:00am-12:00pm. Contact: Nelida McMahon, 246-0606.

Divorce or Separated – 10 weeks courses designed to help those divorced or separated. Contact: Maureen Williams, 246-9660.

Elizabeth Ministry - The Elizabeth Ministry offers peer support to women in their childbearing years and beyond. If you are pregnant and would like to have an Elizabeth Minister pray for you and your baby throughout your pregnancy, contact KC Walsh, 249-9415 or Mimi Coleman, 249-2660.

Eucharistic Ministers - Consideration by petition only. Contact: Al Alvarez, 249-3069.

Habitat Coordination Committee – Opportunities for the Parish fund and help build Habitat houses in the Beaches area. Contact: Bill Peaks, 223-1689.

Hispanic Ministry - Bible study for Spanish speaking. Meets Tuesday evenings. Contact: Ana Arqueta, 223-0704.

Hope for the Bereaved - Support group for those grieving the death of a loved one. Contact: Margaret Lane, 280-0871.

Intercessory Rosary - Prays for parish and special intentions. Meets Wednesdays in the church following the 5:30pm Mass. Contact: Natalie Herbenick, 249-7770.

Knights of Columbus - Meets 1st Monday of the month in Knights Hall. Mass and dinner 1st Friday of the month. Contact: Bob Bilik, 724-4201.

Lectors - Proclaim the Word of God at Sunday Mass. Contact: Buck Rabuck, 241-8121.

Liturgy Of The Word For Children - Offered during Sunday Mass. Contact: Betty Moye, 249-2600 X20.

Lord's Helpers - Do various altar and church chores. Contact: Nancy Andress, 246-0422.

Meals on Wheels - Delivers prepared meals to shut-ins. Contact: Ceil Rabuck, 241-8121.

Ministry to the Sick and Homebound - Visits and/or brings Communion to shut-ins in the parish. Contact: Dewey Marshall 221-6282.

Mission House - Soup Kitchen. Contact: 241-6767.

Mother's Morning Out - For children 1-5, 9AM-1PM. Contact: Sue Harder, 247-8255.

Natural Family Planning - Billings Method. Contact: Patty Kuhlman, R.N., 285-7130.

Prayer Chain - Prays for specific intentions. Contact: Winnie Walsh, 285-5740.

Rainbows – Support group, which helps children who experience a change in their family through, death, divorce, separation or abandonment. Grade K – 8th. Contact: Jennifer Macri, 270-2255.

Religious Education - Provide catechesis to students not attending catholic school. Classes meet on Wednesdays. Contact: Mimi Coleman, 249-2660.

Respect Life Committee - Furthers pro-life causes through education, prayer and legislation. Contact: Becky Jarboe, 221-8766 or Margaret Manahan 821-5266.

Retrouvaille - Weekend experience for couples in hurting marriages to rediscover their spouses. Contact: Bill or Trudy Hehn, 992-0408.

Spiritual Direction – The goal of spiritiual direction is to foster greater self-awareness and to assist and foster an individual’s relationship with God. Appointments are available on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Contact: Al Alvarez 249-3069 alva65@aol.com


St. Anthony's Children's Home - Parish mission effort to supply food, clothing and financial assistance, in Jamaica. Contact: Mike Krivensky, 241-7180.

St. Vincent de Paul Society - Help the needy in our area. Meets 6:30PM Mondays. Contact: Corky Heft 246-5240.

Thrift Shop - Works with St. Vincent de Paul Society and other relief organizations at beach, as well as Customers who depend on the store to supply affordable clothes and household items. Contact: Susan Taylor, 246-3693.

Ushers - Help with seating/offertory collection during weekend Masses. Contact: Parish Office, 249-2600.

Youth Group – Grades 6-12th.

World Wide Marriage Encounters – A weekend designed to strengthen healthy marriages. Contact: Deacon Tom & Susie Hughes 220-3040.
